Thursday Tip - Polymer Clay Plant Markers

Garden Getaway is coming right up on March 19-20, 2016 with lots of great garden art projects.

  • Learn how to get started gardening or how to make Kimchi.
  • Make a Willow Trellis, or a Concrete "Stump" Planter, or a beautiful Ikabana Tray
  • Plus many other great projects.

So come on out and get ready for spring!

There still are openings in Garden Getaway workshops, but hurry - the registration deadline is next week!

Here's a project you can do at home - making Polymer Clay Plant Markers. These are not only practical, but will add a touch of artful whimsy to your garden...and it's a great introduction to working with Polymer Clay!

From Cheryl Smeja:

"We are all in the midst of gardening madness, but still managing to steal some time in the studio. I need some plant markers for my herb garden, and have promised to make some for the Garden Plant and Art sale in June, so I made some up with Sculpey clay, photographed the steps and scribbled down the instructions as I went along. The same process would work for pendants or key chains if you use a stronger brand of clay, like Premo."

This tutorial was developed by Cheryl Smeja and was first published in the Shake Rag Alley News Extra email newsletter.
