15th Year for Woodlanders at Shake Rag Alley

July 7-10, 2016

This summer marks the 15th anniversary of Woodlanders, Shake Rag Alley’s longest running event featuring over 40 workshops in rustic arts and nature-based crafts.

Woodlanders dates back to 2001 when it was started by Sandy Scott and Judy Sutcliffe before Shake Rag Alley Center for the Arts even existed. And it’s been going strong ever since, drawing folks from across the country. (See this High Street Beat article about the beginnings of Woodlanders and Shake Rag Alley.)

You can make lots of nifty stuff, like rustic furniture or Shaker Carrier Boxes, or try your hand at any number of crafts from blacksmithing to nature printing to making nature based jewelry.

You can participate in a “Twig War”, or cheer on your mini-boat (made from junk) in a race down a local stream, or bid on some really great stuff made by the instructors at a silent auction, and more.

Woodlanders is about much more than the workshops and projects. It’s about trying new things, making new friends. It’s about sharing with like-minded folks.

It’s about experiencing the magic of Shake Rag Alley and getting away from it all in a friendly, relaxed, camp-like atmosphere.

In short, it’s just plain fun.

Sign up for one, two, three or all four days…whatever fits into your schedule (registrations are now open).

And give Woodlanders a try. You’ll be glad you did!
