Driftless Area Fibre Arts Faire

Crisp fall weather, Shake Rag's charming grounds, and tons of yummy fiber. What a perfect combination for celebrating natural fibers and the plants and animals that produce them. It was the Driftless Area Fibre Arts Faire sponsored by Distraction fibre, vinatgae and salvage shop and held at Shake Rag Alley last weekend.

There was a sheep shearing demo, music by Rick Harris, vendors selling wonderful fibers and handmade fiber products, spinning demonstrations, weaving demonstrations, felting demonstrations, make-n-takes, classes in needle felting embellishments onto tie-dyed scarves and making stuff out of old sweaters...and two adorable young alpacas that mewed like kittens.
