April Class Photos

Photos from some of our April classes:

In the Silk Painting class, Kathy Kitto's students made their own frames from willow and hand painted beautiful scarves.

Michael Donovan's Fun and Funky Art of Assemblage class is apparently very aptly named. Everyone here is having WAY too much fun!

You can join the fun in Michael's September 24th class.

Students flocked to Diane Knauff's Zentangle classes. If you missed out, there are more Zentangle classes in June and September plus a Holiday themed Zentangle class in November.
Registration info here.

Viking Knit Jewelry taught by Deb Bednarek was new at Shake Rag this spring and a real hit. Lovely pieces!

There are just tons more great jewelry classes scheduled for the rest of the year.
Check them out here.

There was a whole lot of soapy, wet wool on April 16th. Two felting classes - Kriss Marion's ever popular Art Scarves: Felting with Wool and Silk, and Nonda Van Gulden's Felted Wren Nests. Thanks to one of the students, these nests may be adapted to see if they will work as nesting boxes for an endangered bird species. How cool is that?

If you love felting, there are lots more opportunities this year.

For needle felting fans who really want to get into it in depth, Briony Foy will be teaching a four day comprehensive class in June - Needle Felting as an Art Medium.

Then during the Driftless Area Fibre Fest sponsored by Distraction fibre, vintage, and salvage shop in Mineral Point on September 24-25, Kriss will do a short class, Tie-Dyed Silk Scarves with Needle-Felt Embellishment (sounds great - lots of other interesting Fibre Faire classes too) and in October she will repeat the Art Scarves class. Also in October, you can make a felted hat using a combination of needle felting and wet-felting. Fiber class listings here.
